But demand remains weak and many new long-term contracts remain in limbo.
With low cargo volume and uncertain future prospects,
shipping companies have been cancelling voyages in order to mitigate the impact of extremely weak demand and raise spot rates.
But shippers,
Bcos and NVOCs are shifting a higher proportion of their business
to the spot market because of stalled contract negotiations and weak demand.
